Pastor David A. Keaton, MDiv, Founding Pastor
Pastor David Keaton is the second son born to Dr. Joseph A & Mrs. Mary Keaton in Roanoke, Virginia. Educated in the Roanoke County School System, he went on to earn his Bachelor of Arts degree from Glenville State College in Glenville, West Virginia, and his Masters of Divinity from the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University in Richmond, Virginia. Along the way, his unique gifts of knowledge and understanding, and a boldness to speak truth to power, has broadened his audience from the local congregation.
Pastor Keaton is a 3rd generation pastor. He is in his 31st year of preaching the gospel, and 25th year pastoring the people of God. He is the Founder and Senior Pastor of Kingdom Life Church in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Kingdom Life is one of the Twin Cities’ newest and fastest growing churches, where individuals are welcomed to belong and worship God in the grace of Jesus Christ. He has been married since 2004 to Mrs. Kimberly Keaton and they are the proud parents of twins, Joelle and Joseph.
Following in the footsteps of his father as a Christian educator, Pastor Keaton believes in a sincere devotion to building a strong teaching ministry at Kingdom Life.
Paul the Apostle said in Ephesians 4:20-24, “But ye have not so learned Christ; If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus: That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
What Paul the Apostle shared with the church in Ephesus is a profound truth: protracted and diligent knowledge of Jesus Christ is the divine strategy to CHANGE. You do not have to stay in the shape that you are in! Change is only knowledge away!
As the COVID pandemic has limited our physical gathering, Pastor Keaton is developing new leaders, and new online classes for an in-depth Christian education experience that seeks to engage the total person. The Great Commission is about developing believers toward a complete discipleship that enlightens, energizes, and empowers individuals and families, for a stronger community.
